靭帯断裂

高2の娘が４月に前十字靭帯を断裂しました。
本人は手術をして復帰するつもりのようですが、完全復帰（怪我前の状態に戻ること）できるものでしょうか。
色々ネットで調べましたが、再建手術をしても正座のように足を曲げたりは難しくなるようですね。
娘は高校で体操は引退するつもりのようです。１年かかって競技復帰しても、以前のようには演技が出来ないのなら、競技に向けてリハビリと筋トレに時間を費やすよりも、いっそ今引退して、気持ちを切り替えて、他のことに時間を使うほうが良いのだろうかと思ったりもしてしまいます。
周りではバレーやバスケ、サッカー等の断裂経験者はいますが、体操での靭帯断裂の情報が全くありません。
ご意見や事例などお聞かせ願えればと思います。
